Notes:   CMP. No regimental number given. Citation for the Liverpool Shipwreck & Humane Society Certificate & Bronze Medal. Extract from the Liverpool Echo, 14/10/44. NCO'S RESCUE DIVE. Western Command commendation. Lt Gen D G Watson, GOC in C Western Command, has expressed in order his appreciation of the courage and presence of mind shown by Corporal P Wallace, Corps of Military Police who lives at Windsor Road, Abertillery, in saving a boy from drowning. Whilst resting on the bank of a tidal river after a swim, the NCO noticed the boy was in difficulties in the water twenty five yards out. A youth had already gone to his aid but Corporal Wallace dived in and swam out to the pair to find that the youth was having trouble in trying to support the boy, who was struggling. Corporal Wallace brought the boy safely to a slipway where he applied artificial respiration.

Award of the Society's certificate and bronze medal.
