| Citation: Italy. Citation for MBE: This officer, as Major and more lately as a Lt. Col. has been Deputy to the Provost Marshal at HQ AAI and AFHQ for approximately twelve months, and acted for the Provost Marshal for a month in the Spring when the latter was away from the theatre. He has worked with untiring loyalty and enthusiasm for the good of the Provost Service, and has been entirely responsible for the Staff duties and organisation side of the Section. The fact that the CMP was kept up to strength during the period of active operations when the manpower situation was acute, was very largely due to his personal energy and initiative in contacting officers commanding Battalion's and reinforcement Depots. By reason of the cheerful and efficient manner in which he has performed a rather dull and unspectacular task, he has obtained the co-operation of those with whom he has had to deal, which has contributed very largely to the smooth running of the Provost Service throughout the theatre.
