He was killed with Major Richardson, both Provost Officers in Lucknow, India and formerly served in the Metropolitan Police.
See London Police pensioner No. 60, page 4, march 1991. He was murdered on the Outram Road, Lucknow together with Lt Masters also a Provost Officer by a deserter Sapper Hart, RE).
