Citation: Sgt Ralph was employed as the village policeman at Mill Hill and more recently in the capacity of Unit Crime Prevention NCO). During his period as the village policeman, which covers from November 1978 he performed sterling work in providing permanent police cover over a large ares, densely populated with Service Quarters and families. He continually worked long arduous hours to meet the requirement, and was always ready to respond, irrespective of the day or time. He additionally undertook the task and responsibility of running the Mill Hill Youth Club which he built up to a thriving concern, devoting what was left of his spare time to this venture, gaining him further praise and gratitude from the staff at Mill Hill.
Since July 1979 Sgt Ralph has been employed as the Unit Crime Prevention NCO, a task he has tackled with great verve, dedication and competence; it was a comparatively new role for the Unit and by his tremendous enthusiasm and acquired knowledge Sgt Ralph has already built up a sound reputation for himself and established the Unit as an authority in this important field. he is currently providing a most efficient service, which has become greatly in demand, to Units, Married quarters, and Service Clubs in the London District Area. In all the tasks he has undertaken Sgt Ralph has always displayed great willingness and perseverance setting an outstanding example in the very highest traditions of the Corps of Royal Military Police, and it is strongly recommended that his invaluable contribution should be recognised by an appropriate award.
