MURTON POLICE PROMOTION.
Sergeant James M. Wilson of Murton Police Force has received official intimation that he has been promoted to the rank of inspector and will take up his new duties at Jarrow early in February.
A native of Galashiels, Sergt. Wilson has been a member of Durham County Constabulary for 21 years having served at Jarrow, Southwick, Cleadon and Darlington before going to Murton four years ago. He was promoted to the rank of sergeant when he moved to Darlington from Cleadon five years ago.
He served in France right throughout the war with the Military Mounted Police. |
