A letter in his record states: The Secretary, War Office, 45 Grosvenor Road, London S W. 10719, Pte Weller W, with reference to the attached FS for 50d, List P/G 120, telegram from HQ Base, Basra dated 21/5/1916 states Previously Reported "Died of Wounds, 72020 reported wounded. The report of Death on List Pg 917 was therefore regarded as cancelled, the Regimental Paymaster and the man's wife were notified, together with a memo to C2cas, Alexandra House, Kingsway explaining the action taken.

Served Home 19/8/1914 to 12/6/1915, India 13/6/1915 to 23/4/1917, Mesopotamia 24/4/1917 to 10/5/1919, en route 11/7/1919 to ?, Home ? to 30/9/1919 to class Z reserve. 25/12/1908 he married Rachel Louisa Elanor Bracey at Bromley, they had 3 children, Edith born 14/9/1913 died13/6/1915 from pneumonia.
