Citation:   Queen's Birthday Honour. Citation for MBE, Tunbridge Wells, 30 Nov 1953 - 19 Dec 1955 PSI Sergeant ROBBINS has served with the 44 (HC) Div Pro Coy RMP (TA) for two years, during which time his forceful personality and organising ability have largely contributed to raising the standard of discipline and training from a most indifferent to a very high level. For the past fourteen months the Unit has been without a Warrant Officer Class I, and it has been necessary for Sergeant ROBBINS to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the Regimental Sergeant Major, over a period which included very important preparatory training for a full scale Divisional Exercise, the movement of which was largely controlled by the Provost Company. As the senior Provost non-commissioned officer it has been necessary for Sergeant ROBBINS to carry out a good deal of liaison with the Civil Police Forces, from whom he has received high praise. He devotes the whole of his spare time to the Unit, and during the past two years, besides carrying out his duties by day, he has also attended training on an average of five evenings a week. his outstanding example and devotion to duty has been an inspiration to all ranks with whom he has come into contact. In proof of this, when the recent change in National Service Regulations permitted National Service Volunteers the option of cancelling their engagements, Sergeant ROBBINS persuaded every volunteer in the unit to continue to serve.
