12/10/1919 he was a witness at a FGCM of No. 317340 Sapper (A/Cpl) Albert Bowen, RE, IWT charged with 1. When on active service, conduct to the prejudice of good order and military discipline, in that he at Havre on the 29th of September 1917, when employed on barge A.667 at So qu ence South as NCO in charge of barge attempted to transfer about 50 fathoms of 3 inch manilla rope, the property of the public, from the said barge, to Madam Van Damme, a person not entitled to receive the same, with intent to defraud.
2. When on active service, when in arrest escaping, in that he at Havre on the 29th September 1917, when placed in arrest on Barge A.667, by A/Sgt. J V Carmichael, IWT, escaped. Guilty on both charges, awarded 90 days Field Punishment No. 1. |
