Citation:   United Kingdom. Citation for BEM. Since Sgt Sargent was posted to the 80 Div Pro Coy on 25 Feb 43 he has as an instructor, devoted long hours to the training of CMP personnel in Field Force work for overseas. He has shown untiring energy and by his devotion to duty has produced excellent results. At a recent Provost Marshal's conference at the War Office Lt. Col Mark-Sykes DPM AF HQ said "Some excellent Drafts have been received from 80 Division". From my observations of Sgt Sargent's work I feel that it is principally due to his diligent and consicientious work that such results have been obtained. In view of this I feel it is fitting that he be recommended for an award. OC 80 Div Pro Coy. Lt General GOC in C Western Command. Maj Gen Comd 80 Division. National Archive WO 373/156.
