THE FINN, VC, MEMORIAL FUND.
At a meeting of the committee of this fund on Saturday, the suggestion of the East Cornwall Hospital Committee that the fund should be devoted to the provision of an X-Ray outfit for the hospital was favourably considered and it was decided to ask the hospital committee to get some information as to the probable cost. It was at the same time suggested that one of the cots in the Hospital should still be known as the "Finn Victoria Cross Cot." It was thought however that it would be a decided advantage to the Hospital an therefore the public of the district served, if there were an X-Ray appliance in connection with the institution.
We have received a letter from Sergt. R Weary, of the Military Mounted Police, BSF., enclosing £1 towards the fund. He refers to the gallantry of the late Pte. Finn, whose memory, he says, we as true Cornish men should all the more cherish now that he has paid the supreme sacrifice. |
