Embarked Southampton 27/6/1916 arrived Havre 28/6/1916 on La Margeurite, attached to 12 Labour Bn Black Watch, 8/5/1917 Temporarily transferred to MMP No P/10503, posted to 36 (Ulster) Div. 29/10/1918 to UK RAF Reserve Depot, Blandford, Dorset for course of training as NCO Pilot or Observer, 25/11/1918 rejoined from RAF Depot. Another member of the Northumberland County Constabulary has won distinction on the field of battle in person of William Swann. He has been awarded the DCM. for distinguished service. The gallant soldier is a corporal in the Military Mounted Police and joined up in 1915. He has seen over 18 months' service in France. He is home on leave, and is staying with his parents in Newbiggin Road,m Ashington. Prior to enlisting PC Swann was stationed in the Gosforth district.
