Died of Wounds 3/8/18. His wife received the following property 14/11/18. 1 Purse, 2 Pouches, 1 wallet, 1 knife, 1 fountain pen, 1 identity disc, 1 pair scissors, 1 religious book, photographs, cards, 1 receipt. From De Rubigny's Roll of Honour, volume 5 page 18. BENNET, JOHN THOMAS L/Cpl, Military Foot Police, son of Richard Bennett, of 6 Rock Bank, Upton, Birkenhead, blacksmith, by his wife Matilda Jane, born Upton, County of Chester 27/9/84, educated there, was a dairyman, jointed the Military Police in June 1918, served in the Egyptian Exp force in Egypt from August 1916. Subsequently proceeded to France and was killed in action 29/7/18. Buried just outside the Australian Hospital, Rouen. He married at St Patrick's, Rallington, Buxton 1/2/07, Ellen (10 Gladstone Road, Seacombe, Wallasey), daughter of John Barlow and had three children Basil, Denis and Beryl. Attested 2/11/15, Army Reserve 3/11/15 to 20/6/16, Egypt 21/6/16 to 4/9/16, BEF 5/9/16 to 29/7/18 died of wounds.
